videocodecspot.com — Fox News Corp , the company run by media mogul Rupert Murdoch, has made one of its first major internet purchases.It has bought Youtube Ltd, owner of Youtube.com, the fifth most-viewed internet domain in the US and owner of other sites for $580m (£332.85m). Mr Murdoch says the networking site will drive traffic to his Fox TV sites.

Submitted by a digg user who digned up yesterday, has no other diggs and has simply submitted this one story. Definitely a fake. Isn't $580M approx what News Corp paid for Myspace? And aren't the owners of YouTube on record saying they will not accept less than $2B for the site?
