Hopefully the Democrats (and supporting Republicans) will just keep sending him this bill even if he vetoes. Of course, I said that for the Iraq redeployment bill, and they gave up after one stroke of the pen. Bush 2, America's troops and children 0.
It's like saying they really need to ban alcohol in bars because people are sick of walking away smelling like alcohol because it got spilled on them or they stepped in some spilled drink or they were drinking. Bars aren't a place you go to socialize in public, that's what parks/the sidewalk is for since they are public areas. Bars are (well were) private facilities you could go to have some drinks, get some food, and smoke with like minded individuals who were interested in doing the same. Personally thinking about/seeing hard alcohol while i'm trying to eat makes me lose my appetite, so does that mean they should ban alcohol in bars that serve food? or maybe ban food in bars that serve alcohol?
I gotta say it, we all started as teenagers, too young to buy our own without a little trickery that was easier to get by with 15 years ago..we did it for a few reasons, one being the bad boy, rock star, rebelious image.. all teenagers want to rebel.. secondly, when you're 14, you don't give half a s**t what might happen to you when your 50 or 60, that's a lifetime away and you might not live that long.. thirdly, atleast when I started, smokers were just people, not dogs to be put outside in the cold to do our dirty deed, nobody hated you for it...I say leave the reasonably to late for adults the hell alone, and make underage smoking a seriously enforced, arrestable offense.Give kids a REAL, RIGHT NOW reason not to smoke, not one that's 40 years away.. by the time you're really old enough, most of the rebellion is gone and your future is actually in sight.. people rarely start when they're actually of age. the problem will solve itself in a generation..
