But back to the topic; I am a musician, I hold music copyrights and am a member of BMI. How about you? I know the law. You know how to steal. Just because your mommy and daddy dropped the ball on raising you, and you turned out to be a sneaky little thief with poor character and the foul mouth of a high school freshman, is no reason to brag about it in a public forum. Sure, all of your friends steal too, so you think it's alright. But keeping company with other selfish, cheating, stealing, friends isn't a permit to conduct your life in the same manner. So clean up your mouth, drop a bunch of that anger you're carrying around, get a job, and try acting like a responsible person. Basically, 'grow up'.

I emailed every band I listen to that is not RIAA-safe and let them know I will no longer support them because their label is a RIAA member. So far I've received one reply and the band completely agrees with me. f**k RIAA.

There's no question this is a devastating verdict for the person in question, all I am saying is that it's not a profitable strategy for the RIAA. Which means, they can only scapegoat a few people, they can't actually pursue this as a strategy. If someone does set up a legal defense fund for this woman, I will definitely donate to it and I suggest you do too.

Negative... the artist is not seeing this $$ at all... the middlemen are. The artists are making thier money off of concert tickets and the like.
