ctv.ca — Former prime minister Jean Chretien says one of the major victories in his career was standing up against pressure to join the U.S. invasion of Iraq. During an exclusive interview with Canada AM's Beverly Thomson, Chretien says he doesn't worry about what kind of legacy he has left, saying that's up to other people to decide.

Chretien was corrupted to the core. He was a freaking retard that never did anything good for Canada (nor Quebec) but create a system of corruption and money laundering for friends of the party.Insane how canadians are forgetting quickly how corrupted he was with the sponsorship scandal and all his buddies he had set up in important places.Wake up, it's not because he's against the war that he's a good guy... Everyone, but Harper, is against the Iraq War. You simply did not have to elect the conservatives.Chr?tien is a stupid retarded corrupted bastard, stop glorifying him.

We are lucky we had a PM with courage. The days of politicians making decisions based on their intuition and facts rather than opinion polls and pressure from lobby groups appears to be over.Harper is scarey, apparently without principle, and far too secretive to trusted. Can the man talk to the press? Dangerous days ahead for this country as our government embraces the american political technique of growing fear and polarization to stay in power.I hope Americans wake up and boot out their government that has sold them on the idea of eliminating freedom to protect freedom.......Canadians need to be very cautious around Harper and the Liberals need a real leader we can vote for.

Of course you should be proud of your country, The U.S. has a great history of fighting for the truth. But part ot that is not following blindly no matter what. When the truth is pointed out you acknowledge the mistake. Fact is Bush duped the American public during a time of crisis. Be proud of your country not Bush...

One Year, Retrospective: - the world didn't fight. just you.- the UK is pulling out after realizing what a waste the war is.- turns out the US Intel lied to justify an illegal war.- bush and his cronies are facing criminal charges once he leaves office. one of them is treason.- as a result the US economy is coming apart at the seams.- the largest housing firms are collapsing, leaving many homeless.- the Euro is crushing the US Dollar and now has fallen below the Canadian dollar.- instead of focusing the US effort into alternative resources and hunting Bin-Laden, you're now hopelessly dependent on Middle Eastern oil and will continue to hide crude-hunting under the thin veil of chasing would-be tyrants simply because they're from the middle east. yeah. lots to be proud of. I know I'M waiving my flag.

We Canadians may not have officially joined the American led war in Iraq, but our country is deeply involved in unofficial ways. I was disheartened to read this, as I'm sure other Canadians will be as well.http://this.org/magazine/2009/09/01/canada-iraq-oi ...
