theubergeeks.net— You can force iTunes 7 to replace all your album art in your music library, even replacing the old-and-busted low-res album art you found via Google Images.

Yeah I tried with the Album Fix You - E.P. by Coldplay, which I BOUGHT off iTunes, it didn't re-download the art, and I've lost it. This is a bad idea IMO.
Exactly. As I've used the Windows app for applying album art from Amazon on a lot of my CDs, I think I'll be avoiding this one. Assuming the iTunes store is even a remotely complete collection of album covers is not a good idea...
i have a couple of QUESTIONS about itunes,#1 Can you give i tunes credit card details and not spend ANY money?#2 if you want to buy something, does itunes charge you when u purchase something, or do you have to top up your account in "allofMP3 style"?Cheers
@ digger367:iTunes won't charge anything unless you download something that costs money. You can sign up and download free stuff all for free... just don't purchase anything.I don't know what "top up your account" means, but iTunes has two ways of buying music. One is where you have a shopping cart, and when you want to buy, you pay and download everything at once. #2 is "one click" (which really isn't one click), where you click "buy me" and it asks you if you are sure, and you say yes. It then charges you.Note that even if you download free things from iTunes, you will receive a receipt in the mail... don't worry, it is for nothing (pun intended).Matthew
If you live in the UK, you can get a bottle of coke and head to the coke page and you can register an account without supplying credit card details. I'm sure there are similar promotions elsewhere.BTW, I usually drink Pepsi :)
This only works if your album names for your songs are all correct. If the album name is missing or not spelled correctly, iTunes won't find the album art.Check out: http://www.fixtunes.comIt automatically finds and downloads album art for your songs, even if the album name is wrong or blank (it can work with just a song title and artist or a filename). The best I've found so far.
Ok I'm new to this digg thing and I noticed that it has to do with itunes and yeah I think that the new update sucks balls, I'm not going to lie when itunes first came out it had "Update Ipod" that was a lot better, it didn't have to re sync everything and all that other stuff. I download music from Limewire, and everytime I am moving music from the limewire folder to my itunes it keeps processing over 300 album artwork does anyone know how to stop that? Please contact me.Via E-mailXero_Gravity@sbcglobal.net

The album art is indeed embedded into the file just like other metadata (artist, song title, play count, etc.)It's a feature of the IP3V2 standard. You can read about it here: http://www.id3.org/id3v2.3.0.txtSearch for "attached picture"

Yes, I ripped a new album after updating iTunes and my iPold, and when I asked it to get the album art, it only grabbed for the new album.

Scan all the mp3 on your computer with this script, and auto-get their artwork:http://tom.zickel.org/getartwork/
