In the United Kingdom, GW Pharmaceuticals has been granted a clinical trial exemption by the Medicines Control Agency to conduct clinical studies. The double-blind studies that you so desire were conducted in 2002 by GW. Five phase III trials of it's cannabis derivitives, include a placebo controlled trial with a sublingual spray containing THC to 100 cancer patients for pain treatment. There are more than 1000 patients who are currently involved in Phase III trials. These investigations also include trials for the treatment of neurological pain, and defects of neurological function, such as multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries, central nervous system damage, neuroinvasive cancer, dystonias, cerebral vascular accidents and spinal bifida. Also, relief from the pain of rheumatoid arthritis, and brachial plexus injury is also being studied. In April of 2005, GW recieved regulatory approval to distribute Sativex in Canada for the treatment of pain in adults with MS. The FDA, DEA, the office of National Drug Control Policy, and the National Institute for Drug Abuse granted GW an import license to import its first cannabis extracts into the U.S. and in January 2006 was granted permission to begin phase III clinical trials into cancer pain.Don't web users know how to research before making rash comments anymore?

Apparently you have done absolutely no research other than the infamous "above the influence" website. Your internet privileges have been revoked.

it is passing in many states, and there will eventually be a "domino effect" of states legalizing MJ for medical use. it will probably take another 20 years, but eventually people will be able to get a scrip for medical MJ in most, if not all states. i give it 50 years and MJ will be decriminalized everywhere, and within 70 it should be totally legal. This is about the amount of time that it will take to get most people off of tobacco, and the RJ Reynolds Co. will need another crop to package, let the gov. tax, and sell to the public./people that think it is going to happen quickly ARE fooling themselves, however. Legalization MAY happen in my lifetime (I am 37), but I doubt it.

That's a horrible argument. Should opiates be legal? We use derivatives as analgesics...

AARP poll shows 75% of their members support medical marijuana. I know a few people living in retirement homes that grow weed for the members of their complexes, there is a lot of support for cheaper safer medication from our elders. AARP even did a pot luck special food contest here in Florida a few years ago (2005 - Daytona 500)Please make sure you go to http://www.PUFMM.com to download and sign the petition and make all of your friends aware of the efforts! This is a grassroots volunteer based effort and we need as much help as we can get. I am even a volunteer.Joshua GieseghCampaign Manager - PUFMMgieseghj@gmail.com

It very much helps diabetes. This is not about waiting for it to pass, this is about action. We have let Florida that we are here to help everyone that we can but we are doing this as a volunteer effort so we really can't do this alone. We need everyone, especially our patients to step up. Make this a part of every day conversation as our local radio station in Orlando (104.1 Real Radio Philips Phile Show) has done! Call up your radio stations and ask them to make the announcement too! Call your representatives and urge them to initiate and support a statewide medical marijuana program in the state of Florida!Go to message boards every time you get a few minutes of free time here and there on the computer and instead of playing a game or reading a news article just donate this time during the next 8 months..As you will see me say often.. Please make sure you go tohttp://www.PUFMM.comto download and sign the petition and make all of your friends aware of the efforts!
