treehugger.com— Solar power in the Sunshine State -- sounds like a winner to us! The town of Dania, Florida has taken a page from Treehugger, and decided that solar-powered street lights would be a good idea.

This is awesome!...and I'm sure if someone was smart enough to think of solar powered street lights in Florida they were also smart enough the think about the wind factor!
This is great news for Florida on Digg, I believe this has to be the first time any story has been submitted that shows Florida in a positive way at all.(Take that "Germany or Florida"!)
Why exactly should a local issue in Dania be funded by the rest of the country? The city can't find a lender to finance a project that will eventually pay for itself?

They have these in Greenwich, NY. Horrendously big and fragile-looking.
