So she did what anyone with a following on the internet might do and she posted about her frustration and plight on her flickrstream. What's yahoo do? Deletes the image & threatens to terminate account.

Its a shame that people rip people off and I hope she gets every penny she deserves. However, if you think that by placing your photography on the net and expect people to not rip you off, would be like me placing a piece of fine art or some expensive sculpture on the side walk and leaving out unattended and thinking it will be there when I come back tomorrow. It sucks, but then we are who we are.

I would like to see a week long boycott of Yahoo - no e-mailing, Flickr uploading or viewing of free porn videos via Yahoo for a week by millions of web users. I wonder if Yahoo would notice, surely their advertisers might. People like those on Digg have an opportunity to make change. Since it is clear making political change is next to impossible, making change within powerful web company policies is a distinct possibility.

I think flickr has handled this very well by admitting this was a mistake. I think it is very important for freedom of expression that we the bloggers and people using net services such as myspace, flickr, digg, youtube are aware of the tendency of these services to censor and mold content in a way to suit their revenue streams. Sometimes that is ok for us that create content but sometimes this is overriding freedom of expression.I warn against the censorship that Myspace have done several times and as far as I know is still doing. Myspace is not a place that attracts the same crowd as digg.com, I would guess the users of Myspace are much younger and much more vulnerable. Myspace deleted suppport group of several hundred users without no explanation and blocked my Myspace account for a couple of days to stop critics of their censorship of content to spread.This happened in December 2005. OnlyDreemin did not know that the photos were stolen, they bought the photos from another company that said they were the owners. I was just screwed over by Flickr a few weeks ago. They decided to delete my PAID Pro Flickr account without warning and after giving me the hardest time I’ve ever had with any customer service (not even Best Buy was this bad)- they still have not told me exactly WHY my account was deleted. I apparently violated some TOS, but they won’t tell me which one.
