I'm just going from my experience too. I've had Ubuntu from it's very beginnings and no matter what I can't go for 3 days without having to do some fiddling with some random config file or to completely wipe the hard drive and reinstall. My XP install, on the other hand, has been up for like 5 months and doesn't have any problems and I never have to screw with config files or anything to make it work right. It just works. The only time it's ever crashed was when I tried to underclock my processor a little too much using Notebook Hardware Control. I think the reason for the myth that windows crashes a lot is that most Linux users stopped using windows back in like 1997 and haven't really seen how stable XP is.
Don't you love how Macromedia and now Adobe treat Linux like an ugly step child? They still have not released a version 8 of the flash player for Linux and there already anouncing version 9 for Windows. Earth calling Adobe!!! The penguin is pis..ng on your logo!
The headline is inaccurate. I reported this story. Flash Player 9 is not out for download. It says the release is this summer. Stop posting sensationalist headlines that are false.
1. Flash does suck, but not because of the lack of Flash 8 for Linux.2. Windows does suck, but not because it's not Linux.3. It does, but again, not for the reason you state.4. s/Linux/BSD/
actually, flash player 9 has been released, it was called 8.5 originally, but they changed it to 9 about a month ago, up until yesterday, flash player 9 was only available from labs.adobe.com, you can now update your player from the main adobe site which makes it an official release.

just goes on to prove how inefficient flash is. I mean, a top-of-the-line 3D card for flash movies? come on.
