blogs.adobe.com — Mike Melanson, Adobe dev working on Flash 9 for Linux, has updated his blog with information that his team have produced a stable build, and they are now looking into creating cross-distro binaries. Let's hope that they decide to release a beta version to the public. (No release dates have been announced, so any release could still be far off.)

@i440Hah, I got used to this. Everytime there is a linux-related news hitting front i440 will come and troll. Now tell me, why? Are you jealous? Can't you mind your own business? Don't you have anything better to do with your time?

They are waiting until they can ensure HURD compatibility.

@GMorgan Exactly. I'm not trying to troll, I'm just trying to point something out (that FOSS operating systems may be dependent on some closed source software). Thats not a troll, its reality. I really wish I wasnt asleep when this thread hit the front page

I wonder if this release will work more efficiently... running a 686 kernel with damned near nothing else Flash content lags the HELL out of Firefox... and no it's not just firefox Epiphany etc... could just be me but the game Motherload for example a mining game wewwwww nearly impossible to play on my Linux 1 and 0s Of course I'm diehard I only use a mecha stripped down version of Windows for WoW only one thing installed, just that WoW... I don't even use a systray just a solitary icon in the center... Anyway off on a tangent.1) Anyone hear anythign about a standalone player for Flash 9 For Linux?2) Why is this any different from all the other 'iron clad' reports exclaiming the beast comes on the day or thurs! and blah... I've just lost my will to believe I suppose... lol
