askmen.com — With the anticipated July 4th 2007 release Transformer fans all around the world want to know who will be the voice of Optimus Prime.Petter Cullen? Hopefully. I don't think it will be quite as good if it isn't.

Soundwave turning into a helicopter? WTF?!?! He should turn into an iPod.Also I'm still cracking up over the comment about Megatron turning into a walkie talkie. :-)I hope this turns out good but I'm a bit concerned about this being a live action movie.

the voice actor for starscream died a while back, so he won't be in it. I saw Peter Cullen at Botcon 2004 though, and when asked he said he'd love to do it if they ask him.

Soundwave's alternate mode as a cassette deck, for instance, doesn't have quite the same appeal as it did in the '80s, and he will instead change into a helicopter./cry

Soundwave... helicopter... Whoever wrote that into the script should be forced to slit his stomach!

Michael Bay, your name has become synonymous with abject filmographic failure.Steven Spielberg, your name is invoked as a curse whenever movies are softened-up for family friendliness.Congratulations, your names alone have removed any hope I had that this film might be halfway decent.

I think you guys are out of your minds. Soundwave cannot remain a tape player. It's just silly. And an iPod?? That's a joke, right? I agree that Rumble, Ravage, Laserbeak and Buzzsaw were great, but they'd have to find some other way of incorporating them. Maybe just have them disconnect from parts of his body...like the way Robocop's gun comes out of his leg. Even the "Ravaaaage...Ejeeeect!"-tag lines could stay, since they'd still be 'ejecting'.I'm sure there's a better option than a helicopter, but I'd rather see the character modified in order to maintain believability and coolness than left the same just because that's the way it used to be. For X's sake, even as a kid I remember thinking the tape player thing was lame. Soundwave could be one of the most intimidating characters in the movie, but not as a tape player. And Megatron should be made a cannon-type weapon -- like Galivatron -- to get around the equally unbelievable mass-reduction problem.

For all those complaining about John Rogers, I guess you didn't actually read the article: "Rogers was forced to leave the project after submitting his revised first draft in order to work on another film. The next production pass will be executed by the writing team of Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci..."Besides, from several of his online posts, he seemed to have a great knowledge and love of the source material, and I was hoping to find out how his draft turned out. And jeebus, just because he's a comedian, doesn't mean his script was a fraking comedy.

Some of this information clashes with what the fandom knows. Most of it seems to be close though and Michael Bay has stepped on numerous toes in the fandom already.
