It's already been said above me, but hell, I'll say it as well:Oil plays a part in EVERY aspect of our lives, from our homes to our cars to our work. Everywhere you look, you can see a product that has been produced with the help of oil in some way. If we run out, and don't have an alternative, it will be life changing for everybody in the Western world. Bono's trying to stop poverty in Africa.. well it's gonna be poverty for all if we don't find a solution.
Natives of those regions have always had problems getting food; why do you think that so many of the tribes have at most 20-30 people, they cannot support a population any higher.
I never suggested that SUV owners are the only ones who would be effected, merely that the author of the article was being shallow. But thanks for jumping to conclusions.
Hey, there was a site with like.. "1,000 acres of forests absorbs as much co2 as a coal power plant puts out in 7 days" or something like that.. depressing statistics.. anyone have the link? please please thanks bye
We are not powerless at all. We have more power than you think. We could do so much more if people would stop being so lazy. Check out the top 50 ways to stop global warming. There is so much that everybody could do. People need to open their minds to new ideas and ways of change. The last thing american needs is a bunch of closed minded fools who give up to easy. You have to put effort in to get anything out of it.
What you said is unbelievably stupid. It is true that overpopulation is a problem in India and China, but the population of America is just as good as is.Even if you have less childern, the resources you consumne will simply raise and will arrive at the same damn pollution. If I'm not mistaking, an american's carbon footprint is of 19.1 tons and a chinese is 4.6. Since they are many more they make better use of what they have. They do have a lower quality of life, but an average American uses far more than he needs anyways. Don't you think that refusing someone's right to life simply because you want to be able to use more resources is a a little selfish and hypocrytical of you?

At least three of these five would be heavily exacerbated by or occur primarily as a result of global warming.

Scaremongering is a great way to get governments to give you money. Bottom line.
