mymac.com — Despite our own Patent Office giving out patents for things everyone else would laugh at as an invention, the real invention is a rare and precious jewel. Here are five inventions we still need, and which no one seems to be able to even find an approach to inventing.

@jasqwertyLet me point that I was not equating teleportation with quantum tunneling. Also, quantun tunneling is known to happen at speeds "greater than c". May I suggest that electrons do not "orbit" the nucleus but actually go through it using quantum tunneling?

String theory looks kind of good idea to explore in order to get #4 on that list, AFAIR, it describes (tries to) gravity more precisely than GR.

300+ mpg car.http://www.ask.com/bar?q=miles+per+gallon+gm+conte ...look up the water torch if you think the water car is a hoax. btw it was shown on tv working they did an interview with it running. after his death they said the car didnt even work... they use voltage to seperate the h and o. 2 companies are curently doing this and have patents on it.they have "thought" interfaces already. think "A" it types a. they say it takes a while to get to where you can use it. computer has to learn your thought patterns.they could do this already, problem is the power sourse, though recently a guy invented a way to harness power from your bodies movements. his intention is to power things like pacemakers. i think an implanted phone would work. they are curentlyworking on growing prossesors, they have succeded in doing it, but its not perfect yet. they are also interfacing the human brain to memory chips. again, not quite there yet, but they have a proven concept.
