with an average battery life of 2-3 hours per charge, your tethered to an outlet with the air even more than you are with any other user swappable battery. The only thing this shows is that you might be able to buy a higher mAh battery and swap it out your self to hopefully get closer to the 5 hours of battery life Apple lies threw their teeth and says the air gets. So i think you were understanding right... i just think people are lacking oxygen cause its all gone and they think they need the macbook air to breath or something....
