blogs.zdnet.com — Adrian Kingsley-Hughes got copy of Windows 7 beta 1 in my stocking for Christmas Day. This beta (build 6.1.7000.0.081212-1400) should be the first and only beta from Microsoft of Windows 7, and he reports that it?s a good one.

It looks that way, but I'm also asking if games are fully compatible at this point. They should be since 7 uses Vista's driver architectures, but it *is* still in early beta stages.

Honestly I love it, I'm currently using the beta as my main OS in my home desktop. But I have to ask, what happened with all the awesomeness they showed many years ago for Longhorn?

I don't know why you're getting dugg down. I want to see them fix this too. This is code from Windows 3.1 (maybe even earlier) that should not still be in a modern copy of Windows. If you want to see what this guy is talking about, go to Control Panel --> Fonts --> then right-click on a blank space and click "Install New Font".
