anandtech.com— Intel gave us an hour alone with Conroe and an overclocked Athlon 64 FX-60. And you better believe we bench-marked it... Turns out Intel has regained the performance crown.

Damn, even with solid evidence, I knew the Digg AMD fanbois would get their panties in a knot after reading this.Next thing you know, there will be an article saying Windows hads a higher market share than Mac OS, but the digg Apple fanbois will come up with excuses and statistics to deny this...
Hmm, Fanboys galore here grow up kiddies!Have been and still are AMD hardcore overclocker for past 6 cpu's myself having swithced from Pentium 120 ages ago but this looks promising, May win me back to Intel for at least 1 cpu generation at least. Now here's a story I found and please LOOK AT THE DATE it was posted.http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/cpu/display/20040222123818Funny how some Fanboys here think this is some magic trick pulled out of a hat, Truth is it's been coming for years.Give Intel credit where it's due, I'm sure Amd's Switch to 65nm chips next year will also produce some awesome cpu's for us.As for power concerns, It is on 65nm process so it will be cooler and consume less power by a huge margin. Intel was scrutinised and rightly so for their Prescott's and now they have fixed the problem in upcoming chip/s and people are still whinging, C'MON IDIOTS lighten up.In the end who gives a s**t on brand, As long as it is affordable, Runs cool and pumps out Quake 10 or Doom 30 or whatever it is at more than 30FPS for smooth gameplay it doesn't matter, This chip has potential.Competition is great!!!! Bring it on :)
Now this story was 2 years ago and they say back then to expect 20 to 30% performance improvement, Having seen these latest benchmarks how friggin close is that, Not bad almost what they said it was going to be!

to tell you the truth, I have rarely seen a positive review for AMD processors on AnandTech.
