Calendar, Notes and Address Book are invaluable to me on an iPod. I used to have PDAs but not any more since the iPod gives me access to the information that I accessed most often. Sure, you can't create new items but then that was always a pain on the PDAs that I owned so I'm not much bothered.
I'm sure that there really are better MP3 players than the iPod on the market but the Zune isn't one of them. It was a good idea that went horribly wrong when some heard about "Social Networking" and thought that this would be a better use of WiFi than wireless syncing or something actually useful. The Zune has some great ideas but the total package lacked and that's the reason why it didn't sell.In the meantime, lay off the drugs, OK?
I honestly did like some of the things that were done in the Zune but it was crippled in unnecessary ways. Having gone to the trouble of adding WiFi to the unit Microsoft failed to do anything useful with it unless you had the considerable fortune to meet someone else with a Zune - there was no point to the WiFi function on Day 1 and I honestly doubt this situation has changed even now. The iPod offered more useful functions and a better physical product. The Zune could be a competitor but the first generation wasn't and I was honestly shocked that they didn't address these issues in software.
Yeah right. The same way Vista's WOW made us switch from XP to Vista or Mac OS to Vista. Zune is a result of Microsoft's greediness rather than innovativeness. It is a bad idea, will always remain a bad idea.
