Why would a publisher want this? The biggest problem with PPA and affilliate programs is getting the advertiser to pay up. With CPC the model is, "Here's my ad, I will pay you for every visitor."With CPA the model is, "Put up my ad but I only pay you if the visitor does/buys something."Clearly CPC benefits the publisher while CPA benefits the advertiser. I prefer the middle ground, CPM, where an advertiser pays a lower fee for a set number of ad impressions. If the advertiser is selling a crap product why would I want to run a CPA ad for them?
It is my understanding that google ads are self defending in terms of per click models. If an ad doesn't get a respectable number of clicks it slows and then ceases showing up. (In other words google ads position and frequency is to maximize revenue not just put higher ranking ads on top) so if it never gets a conversion it will be dropped, and if an advertiser does too much of that they will be dropped.
This is the worst thing ever.Internet marketing is a bunch of whiny media buyers complaining they didnt get enough clicks/ conversations and what not....Do this go to ABC run a tv spot and tell them your only going to pay them based on what sales the commercial generatesGo to the local post and tell them no one bought your tv you put in the classifieds so run the ad again for free.see how far you getOnline publishers need to put there foot down. marketing is not I pay you for every sale you get. that is a partnership and unless your giving me stock options i don't see a partnership there!Grow some confidence you have what they need! marketing space if they don't want to advertise with you their competition will.Come on is there any business people in the online sector anymore!!!I could vent about this for hours...
I posted this on seo roundtable, I thought I post it on here to ... It is adwords PPA i.e. you don't pay till you get the desired action complete... you can have your action defined also ... We are trying with online sales i.e. payout only when there is a sale. I am not sure how many partners are participating in it. The good thing is I have the option to post image ads also not just text ads ... this is the size of the banners that you can create ...468 x 60 Banner728 x 90 Leaderboard200 x 200 Small Square250 x 250 Square 300 x 250 Inline336 x 280 Large Rectangle120 x 600 Skyscraper160 x 600 Wide SkyscraperBeside this you can also have text link ads ... I guess people can have those ads within an article with the text link ... so far we are testing it with only handful of products ...
