Here's what I did: Separated the different accounts under lists named "MSN" and "AIM". It's simple, simply disable all the AIM accounts and click+drag all your MSN buddies to the new group, then rename the other group.
i don't like it to....in GAIM i was able to see yahoo or gtalk (jabber) icons...now, even if it is all green.....all my gtalk contacts shows in category called BUDDIES and yahoo shows my custom categories.....
You should also try http://www.ooVoo.com if you want to see a really cool video IM - reminds me of iChat but supports Windows and also support up to 6 people in video (I only tried 3...)
Try having around 400 - 600 contacts on Trillian and then Gaim. Trillian was really slow for me. Took like 7 minutes to get it up and running. Pidgin/Gaim is almost instantaneous.
My only complaint is I can't tell what account/protocol each buddy is using. In the older versions it showed the icon of that account/protocol beside the buddy name. Now it just shows the green circle icon. Of course I can hover over the buddy but I would like to glance.Download the latest freeware, shareware and demo software arranged by categories, including screenshots, descriptions, ratings, reviews and direct download links.Free Software Downloads: http://www.freedownloads32.com

i like it except for the mobile icons. i like the mobile icons but think they should just replace the green dot with mobile icon for mobile users.
