Completing the quest gives you different powers that give some pretty nice stat bonuses depending on the phases of the moons. They're of the -20 to one attribute +20 to the other variety. I also hear the loot you get during the quest is pretty good, but my low-level mage didn't see anything special because of the scaled loot system. Not to mention that the Orrery itself is a sight to see.
I'm interested enough to pay for this new addon/mod quest. But while its only $2, how many in the end will there be and how much will all these $2 mods end up costing the Oblivion fans?
i've bought all of the expansions including, KOT9, SI, Deepscorn Hollow, Frostcrag Spire, Battlehorn Castle, Horse Armor, Skill Books, and the Dunbarrow Cove. let's break this down, KOT9 gets you the KOT9 armor and when you're wearing it all, not only do you get it's magical benefits, but a cumulative benefit from wearing multiple pieces, Shivering Isles, well, i'll leave that one to you, let's just say it's way more than worth it's measley price, Deepscorn hollow gives you a quest free way out of vampirism, while also giving you a dark minion who will go kill in the name of sithis and bring back the loot. not to mention the guy in the cattle cell who never wakes up for those of you who have embraced your vampirism. Frostcrag spire is a mage's tower that comes with an altar of both enchanting and spellmaking also one of those valuable bottles of Shadowbanish wine, portals to all Cyrodiilic mages guilds, and a means of making any elemental atronach you want. Battlehorn castle requires you only kill 3-7 low level marauders and what's the prize? a freakin castle. where everybody calls you sir. the horse armor is truly worth it, it saves those few bits of hp when needed for you horsey. for those of you like me who have a desire to put all skills at 100, the addition of more than 30 skill books for the smallest download price is also very worth it. and the pirates of dunbarrow cove may be shabby and lazy and want a week of relaxation between missions, but you're guaranteed atleast 1k gold or 1k worth of loot from when you send them out to "pillage and plunder" so please don't bash on the downloads i accidentally found this site and had to sign up to let y'all know what the benefits are of the downloads. they're infinite. it has enhanced the game play by 10,000 cool points, but like everything else, there's one bad thing to them and it must be addressed. once you dl all of the content, you push A to start at the title screen, then your dashboard tab pops up asking you for hard drive or storage device, when you choose that, you get almost 5 minutes of "Loading Extra Content" to wait through. if you can tough out that short amount of time. there's nothing more worth your money if you enjoyed the base game. get the downloads. try 'em. steal mama's credit card, whatever. it's worth it. (and no, i don't work for bethesda)
