"I'm not trying to troll, I'm honestly curious. Why would someone need such a beast of a system with the mac OS? I can understand for windows you would need this for games, maybe computer simulations on linux. There aren't very many super graphics intensive games out for mac. Is it for mainly graphic editing or bragging rights?"Well, Mac OSX is a Unix OS, meaning most things you'd do on linux/unix you could do on a mac. Plus, a lot of high-end film editing is done on Macs, and when working on HD video, you need some power. And it runs windows too, so with the ATI graphics card option it'd make an excellent gaming rig. At the moment it's cheaper than an equivilant Dell (I wouldn't expect it to stay that way - Apple has a tendancy to avoid price drops), so it's actually a great option if you're looking to buy a gaming pc.
I just got a brand new package of White Socks. See the link below for photos of me opening the package and putting them into the sock drawer of my dresser. You can see the photo's at: www.getaf**kinglife.comHow completely lame is it that anybody gives a flying f**k about looking at photos of someone opening a computer box.
"windows users NEVER want to use macs for.....anything....cause everything is already for windows"Ill say this very slowly for you. Please explain the fact that the number of Mac users has risen faster than the number of new computers purchased. Ah, that's right, Apple's market share is rising as there are windows users that are switching. But when was the last time you heard of a Mac user buying a PC to replace their mac? Thought so.I mean hell, Mac users don't want to switch to windows and Linux users don't want to switch to Windows. That should tell you something about Windows. And last time i checked the OSX86 forums were full of people who intend to or have replaced windows with OS X on generic hardware. They don't put months of effort into it, get it working and say "that was fun, i think I'll uninstall it now".People want to use OS X. Deal with it.
You can use Windows to run your games and use OS X when you're digging:http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/The Mac Pro will be perfectly capable of running Vista, probablly more capable than a number of computers coming from Hardware companies that traditionally make Windows machines.Macs do not have limited support on the web, nor do I really know what you're referring to... You can always install Firefox on a Mac if you find that Safari is incompatible with certain websites (I do this personally because I'm a Firefox addict).
The sad thing is that I'm even poorer.iBook G4 1GHz here. So that test would probably take 2hrs.$1200 CDN + the sale of this iBook G4 and I get a 2.0GHz Dual-Core white MacBook. (hehe)

"This is so sad. People wasting their time chronicling and posting the opening of a cardboard box."Not as sad as you taking the time to comment on it.

One thing I have to hand to Apple is that the Mac Pro looks extremely easy to upgrade. Even for people who are afraid to open up their computer.
