gizmodo.com — We benchmarked the MacBook Air against the MacBook and MacBook Pro to see how it held up comparatively. Predictably, the MacBook Pro outperformed its counterparts in the majority of our tests. But the MacBook Air (1.6 GHz Intel, 2 GB RAM) went toe-to-toe with the MacBook (2 GHz Intel, 1 GB RAM) in many of our tests, falling just short in most.

wasn't the MBA supposed to compete with the micro laptop market or something? Wouldn't it make more sense to pit it against those systems?

You mean a Newton. It'll never happen, non-smartphone PDAs are a dieing breed.

This is such a solid argument. You know, considering the price of cars can be 20k+, perhaps Apple should release a laptop for 18k. What a bargain. Oh! and the prices of houses is much higher than that. Infallible logic.

and the half price laptop you are buying is what size? Either you get cheaper-smaller laptops that don't have the performance, keyboard, and monitor, or you get a larger-size laptop with more performance. Or you buy something more around the MBA's level and pay MORE $

but that or high end video editing are the only things you are going to be needing that much power for.

Self-proclaimed PC gamer chooses Dell, that's cute. What is next? Self-proclaimed Architect picks legos?

I'm not sure if the macbook Air is really worth it. i've read lots of benchmarks articles, and also the pros and cons here http://www.maconair.com/the_pros_and_consIt's been 3-4 months since it arrived and I still can not decide, can you believe it?
