SystematicI disagree, as a softcore (or, ugh "casual") but addicted GH2 fan, I got past easy relatively easy, the step up to 4 buttons was harder than the step up from 4 to 5 in hard. The reason is that in easy there's only 6 different key/chord combos (red, green, yellow, red-green, green-yellow, red-yellow) so as the songs ramp up in difficulty, but once you play the first 3-4 songs you've got it nailed, you can coast through easy without spending any time practicing. Thus easy mode is fun as hell even if you suck, and the only potential for failure is a few of the rythym songs. 4 Buttons pushes it into many more combos, 10 combos (3 button combos don't exist in medium TTBOMK) which is a strain on coordination, and coordination is the key of guitar hero. medium to expert merely adds another button and increases the speed slightly, but rarely do the combos increase. 5 buttons off the bat, even in easy would be frustrating for most I think, coordination and acclimation only come with time, and the way it moves from 3 - 4 - 5 now is the best way.Hell, I still play medium even though it's easy as hell because sometimes I don't want to do all the sliding around that any hard track has me doing, eh, I'm lazy.

Not at all. I just sit and strum every single note on Jordan, because I'm hardcore...

It's not even about being easier or harder. It's completely different. You can't say that a stellar GH2 player would be great at real guitar any more than the other way around. One's a game, and one is a complex instrument with a variety of notes and playing styles.I do think, however, that guitar players might have a natural affinity for the control scheme of guitar hero, thus giving them the neck up over noobs.
