Who's not interested in what?It's open source. If someone is interested, they can implement it and submit a patch or whatever. And if its good, AOSP will accept it into the codebase.

Sure can! Just plug in a headset and load a VoIP client; calls over wifi are crystal clear! You could even throw in video thanks to your unit's built-in webcam. Finally video phones are affordable to the masses in the form of netbooks.
