but this is just a work around.....they still failed to do what they said they would, and that was to give most of america direct fiber optics......yes thats all well and good that they can get copper up to current fiberoptic....but wouldnt that mean that fiber optics still has the capacity to go higher?

well it's about time, let's just boost what we have already instead of trying to add more to it!!!!

Total BS, see the Shannon-Harley equation:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shannon%E2%80%93Hartley_theoremThe bandwidth of a twisted copper pair doesn't even come close to the theoretical bandwidth of a fiber. Sure, with VDSL2 you can reach upwards of 200Mbps, but that's starting to approach the capacity of the medium, and you can't go much higher than that without adding more wires, which negates doing this over "normal" phone lines. It is literally like comparing a 6ft tube to the entire width and breadth of the grand canyon. Despite using the word "tubes" this is a legitimate annalogy--if you don't believe me, do the calculations yourself on the theoretical capacities of each.

They can talk about improving speeds all they want, it doesn't mean anything unless they actually do something and unless it actually makes a difference.

NO! I have Fiber at 15mbps!I dont like the US. They are lagging behind technologically in everything except military technology. Why do you get DSL at 28mbps when Fiber here is only at 15mbps?Greedy Telcoms. Thats what

I think it's great, anything that will allow companies and others to have a high speed connection for less money should improve e-commerce.

12 fiber optic potential serving addresses = 1 tube. And no, you're *not* gonna clog 'em. :P
