Jesus Christ when the hell are these open source geek types going to wake up to the reality of business 101. Google is a public company. Their stock is what hovering above $400 a share. As a company they have every right to promote and sway folks to use their products and services. Its their search engine, they can do what they want. so geeky stupid.
"Seriously, is anyone going to argue that Picasa is better than Flickr, or that Blogger is better than Wordpress?"Yes, I happen to like Picasa and Blogger better than Flickr and Wordpress. Therefore, to me, they are better. Both of the services work better for me. Wordpress is as much overhyped as any other open-source application, and Picasa has its own desktop publishing/editing app. Does Flickr? Oooh it has an uploader. How cool! Google's services now nicely integrate with each other which happens to make organization also that much better. To all of the trolls who call Google evil: do you consider every corporation evil? I suppose we should all just be happy communist little robots who obey our masters, instead of fulfilling our dreams of success and wealth.I would almost bet my life that most of these responses are from teenage virgins who have nothing better to do but bitch about other's great lives, out of pure jealousy. I feel so sorry for your close minded, cynical world view.
