There is no memory leak. Maybe you have noticed that we surf in tabs now a days? That consumes allot more memory. Try top open 10 tabs of yahoo.com or any page in IE7 and you will see that IE7 also consumes allot more memory then before because of the tabs... And btw. What are you doing with all the memory if not using it? FF is also configured to use more memory if you have allot of memory. And finally. High memory consumption are often due to third party plugins that may not release memory before Firefox is closed. Skins and allot of extensions are also huge memory consumers.

I kinda agree. I don't use any of those systems any more but allot of people do. I hope they keep on supporting 2.x for some time to come.

I wonder if Mozilla ever comes out with a major upgrade to Firefox if they'll have to jump extra digits: Firefox 12.0 Even better extra stuff. No, really guys, this time we do mean it. Please stop laughing.

It helps if you get rid of the extensions bloating the hell out of your browser.I've got quite a few and don't run higher than 120MB. Try taking care of your problems rather than spreading your ignorance to everyone else.

I love how everyone is completely missing why Firefox 3 will be so superior to FF2. If you were to work with Mozilla, you would see that the development tree placed FF2 as a BRANCH of FF1.5. FF3 will be coming straight off of the trunk with Gecko 1.9. All the new features that wern't pushed to FF2 (and there are a lot of them) will be released in FF3. FF3 will be the everything you expected FF2 to be.

I personally think that the alpha codenames are cooler than the Firefox name. I mean, I LOVED the Bon Echo name, and was sad when that got stripped out of Firefox 2. :P
