tech.cybernetnews.com — After upgrading to the latest nightly build of Firefox 2.0 I noticed two features that I haven’t seen before. One of the features was an “Undo Close Tab” button when you right-click on the tab-bar or on a tab. The other feature that I don’t like very much is a scrolling tab-bar.

I've been using the Undo Close Tab extension for a long time--just like several other people here, it seems. I have assigned that function to CTRL+Z, so that it's very intuitive.

I like the fact that FF is looking at what the community is doing, but I still think they should remain extentions, or if included in the core build do them as options that can be turned off. That's the main reason I use FF instead of Opera - sure Opera has all these great features that FF has available as extentions, but if I don't like them I can't turn them off - I'm stuck with what they think I should have.FF I choose what I like and configure it how I like, not just take what is the most popular and force it on everyone.

Not trying to be a Firefox fanboy, but there is NO feature Firefox could add that some extension doesn't already do. So no matter what they improve you could say they are just adding functions that extensions already do into the core.

New browser window = new thread of the program (ie: duplicate everything)New tab = new browser object created (ie: duplicate only the minimum set of resources for that tab)end result of tabs = less memory usage & faster response times due to fewer programs running.

I'm just wondering if anyone brought up Reveal (<a class="user" href="http://aluminum.sourmilk.net/reveal/)">http://aluminum.sourmilk.net/reveal/)</a> , it's a pretty nice extension in Firefox that can go through your history of each tab open visually. If you have it and don't know how to do it. Just press F2, and then select one of the tabs in the middle and press the Insert key to see the history.

Okay this is cool and everything, but the thing I miss about the UndoCloseTab ext. was that you could just middle-click on the empty part of the tab bar and BAM there was your closed tab. I found that very useful when I would accidentally close a tab by middle clicking on it and then just move my mouse over and do the same thing to open it back up. Any way to recreate that in 2.0?
