getfirebug.com— Firebug is an amazing extension for web developers. It has js debugging, css editing, dom manipulation, network monitoring, and more! If you develop for the web, this extension is for you!

This is great, dugg for the css editor alone! (not to mention all the other good features). It will not replace Web Developer tool bar in my opinion, but it will definitely compliment it.
I could've sworn I read "Firefox 1.0 Beta is out!" out of the corner of my eye and I was about to say, dude, get with the program! Now, off to buy glasses.
anyone who has to ask if this replaces their "web developer" bar obviously has never tried it. Firebug is the ultimate web developer's tool. The webDev toolbar pales in comparison. Debugging, live inspecting, Dom manipulation, network statistics, lord jesus!
They are both completely different products.Web Developer does quite different things. I think it's more for webdesigners, which want to see their page without images, and stuff.Firebug lets you debug JavaScript-code, replaces the DOM Inspector and does a lot of cool things that are useful to developers.I use them both, though. There's not much they are doing both.

There is a nice image on getfirebug.com illustrating the new profiler feature: <a class="user" href="http://getfirebug.com/net.gif">http://getfirebug.com/net.gif</a>Can you say bloat ? :)

If you like this tool -- how could you not -- please consider donating. The more people that donate, the better the product will become.

Wow, I noticed it right away, and no mention of Parakey after all this time...

I didn't really get what Firebug was all about until I saw a screencast showing what it can do. I was (and still am) a big user of the web developer toolbar, but now I just have to give this some use too... It just looks amazing.I dugg the screencast so that others can get an idea of what exactly firebug enables them to do... link to digg page:<a class="user" href="http://digg.com/programming/Screencast_Firebug_1_0_The_ultimate_web_developer_tool_This_is_Amazing">http://digg.com/programming/Screencast_Firebug_1_0_The_ultimate_web_developer_tool_This_is_Amazing</a>

Firebug is still my favorite and most used plugin for Firefox. Just can't imagine my life without it.
