arstechnica.com — A Mozilla developer has discovered undocumented Mac OS X framework APIs that are being used in Safari. This discovery has led some to question if Apple is giving itself an unfair advantage, with some pointing out that if Microsoft was caught doing this it might find itself in front of a judge.

Apple is even worse than Microsoft. They hijack open source projects without a care in the world. Jobs is a control freak anyway.

Yeah, you know nothing about this. Try reading up on it instead of instantly knee-jerking about Apple fanatics.

A company like the mighty Apple SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DISCLOSE ANYTHING THEY DO. END OF STORY. GOOD BYE.

It is not illegal to sell a proprietary computer system.Safari's components are deeply integrated into the proprietary OS (which is considered part of the apple computer.)However Microsoft sells software. Not computers. So for a software company like Microsoft (which controls a huge percentage of the computer market) to stop other software companies is illegal. The equivalent, would be for Apple to carpet bomb Toshiba factories.I'm sure if it reveals some kind of vulnerability, they will probably patch the vulnerabilities, and document the APIs for developers if the demand is there.

Apple can do whatever they want with Safari since they're not actively working against other developers in the web browser arena. If Mozilla wants to bitch then, they should consider making Firefox launch faster. I have a very fast MacBook Pro and Firefox takes a lot longer than Safari does to launch. That doesn't matter so much with simple, routine tasks but, when I'm in the middle of a job and I need to look at a website that doesn't support Safari, I need Firefox to launch quickly.<a class="user" href="http://xn--mgbeb9gm0b.xn----ymcae0df5a6fo.com
