somewhatfrank.com — Finding a parking spot can be a major drag. You can circle an area and minutes can easily turn into hours as you look for an open crevice to park your set of wheels. Wouldn't it be great if you could find out about potential parking spots before you leave the comfort and warm glow of your television or computer monitor?

Only in Chicago and Philly for now, but you can be notified when it comes to your city.

It's called google maps. If there is no parking lot, or it looks like pay-parking then f**k'em. I'll take my money elsewhere.

Brilliant! Now find the power to light every parking spot in Chicago...

It doesn't appear that this service is actually showing real-time availability of on-street parking. Rather, it looks like they're showing a list of paid parking lots and garages in the area. And from what I can tell, they're not tracking availability of those lots or garages either. So really, there doesn't seem to be any information you can't get from Google Maps, or from the yellow pages.

This is definately a great idea. I see it being very successful. On the other hand, People who live in Major cities ( such as myself in N.Y.C. ) will find it useless considering that 10 spots will show up and be gone in less than 2 seconds lolBut for people in suburban areas might find this very usefull.

@kevyn I've seen an upcoming GPS that has adaptive routing based on past driving experiences. I'm not sure how sophisticated it is, but it's a start.
