That would be a valid comparison if Apple were the Mercedes of computer vendors, but they're not. They're more like Volkswagon where Dell is Toyota (and HP is GM).The closest thing to a "Mercedes" computer would be a custom-build using ridiculously-expensive CPUs and video cards (which are unavailable in Apple's models).

What kills me is that the submitter writes "confirmed" despite the fact that Gizmodo went out of its way to indicate that this was a rumor only. Now buried as inaccurate because there's no "submitter didn't read the article" option.

Even if it were true, which is yet to be confirmed, if seems that it would be a big fail if it were indeed running the iPhone OS, purely from the standpoint of no multitasking capabilities. Could it be a tweaked version of the base iPhone OS that does allow for multitasking? Sure. Until more details are released, that's the glaring issue I can see (other then I can't find the need for a giant iPod Touch, complete with onscreen keyboard).

@jj101: your analogy was pretty stretched to begin with; computers are not cars, and the view of one or another as manufactured by a "premium" brand is largely BS. Point being, I could build a computer with all the exact same specs as a Mac Pro (minus the shiny "I'm a Mac Pro" case) with very little extra effort, much lower cost, and the assurance of "if something breaks in here, I don't have to take the entire thing back". There's really no "car" analogy for that... unless you were buying the Mercedes because the Mercedes logo looks really cool. People should buy Macs to run OSX, not because of what's inside.

Bugmenot, but there really wasn't anything else on gizmodo that wasn't available without registering anyway.
