gearlive.com — Early this morning Griffin announced the latest addition to their iTrip FM transmitter line - the iTrip for iPod nano. In the new nano version of the iTrip, the unit now uses the iPod?s high resolution LCD for the display of FM frequency information. Check out the sleigh design.

FM transmitters do suck, and why not just buy a Belkin one? It'll work as well as something like this ... plus this is just another way to give Apple all your money. Come on, how much does it actually cost to make one of these? $49.99???? ha

Bitch bitch bitch... some of you must be driving cars that have sound-proof cabins. FM trans. isn't that bad. Check out the iRiver one that directly plugs into the cigarette lighter. It's about the cleanest-no battery setup I've found.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00067LYFW/104-5818616-2106326?v=glance&n=172282&v=glanceIt's got a great blue glow display that's pretty easy to see day and night.

I refuse to use radio transmitters. The sound is garbage if you have a nice high end system. If you are going to spend your money on something like this for your car, you might want to find out if you can get an adapter that will allow you to control your ipod through your cars stereo like a CD changer. I got one for my S4, and I love it. I only use CDs to transport media from the store to my house. If your car has a tape player in the stereo, the oldschool adapters sound much better than the FM stuff, IMO.

battery isn't small enough?... now your going to suck the life out of it with a crappy FM mod.if you have to go this route, Monster has a charger/transmitter. Atleast it will charging while your transmitting.http://www.monstercable.com/apple/I have an iTrip and its horrible. The chessy iRock from RadioShack is better than the iTripsomebody should crack one of those transmitters open and amplified the signal. screw the FCC

Make sure you check the stats for your deck. You might be able to run a $10 A/V cable to your Nano.

Will any nano covered with a skin will have problems connecting to the iTrip nano? i.e. you will have to remove the nano from its iSkin each time you connect/dock. This would be more of a deterrent that quality (mainly listed to talk 96kbs podcasts, so quality isn't my main issue). the AirPlay2 may not have this problem.. comments? Also, does the Monster iCarPlay require the Cigarette charger to be plugged in to operate as I may want to use it outside the car...

I would like to just add one comment.....The *NEW* iTrip is pretty slick, FM transmitters on a whole are pretty cheap, I had the iRiver and it fell on the seat and I mean like it fell on a pillow and it broke. I returned it and decided to try the new iTrip for Nano, got a great deal on-line for it, but had to buy the adapter to charge it in the car because its a hog on batteries, but I assumed that when I bought it so I'm not so miffed about that but that NO CASE fits the nano and the iTrip together, I'm sure Griffin new when they were designing these that they should have designed a case too, now my nano is a scratched mess, everyone that owns a nano knows how easily they scratch. Griffin could have milked this cat for another $25 had they had a case, and now all I want to do is return and go get the cheap Belkin one so I can put my case back on my nano.CHeeRSJpsthe spell checker is pretty cool toooooooo
