kotaku.com — Hate Starforce? Want to sue them? Well, Christopher Spence has already done it on your behalf. Christopher has filed a $5M class action lawsuit against Ubisoft for using Starforce DRM in their games, and if he wins, you’ll be entitled to collect if you’ve ever had your system infected by Starforce.

The main argument on this matter is that Starforce has used gutter tactics that have included threats and extortion to silence anyone that tries to prove that there is a problem with their DRM software. With them being in Russia, that makes things a bit tough to work out a lawsuit agianst them. So the best thing to deal with this situation is to go after the companies that impliment Starforce's DRM to protect their products.

most class action lawsuits aren't about wining in court. they are more about bringing enough bad publicity and consumer doubt that a company is forced to settle, and hopefully reconsider their position on the subject. the only real winners financially in a class action suit are the lawyers, we just have to hope that the consumer makes some gains in the end as well.

Hmm, anyone have a buddy that's a greedy class action lawyer? If so, go out and buy 1 share of stock, then you're a stock holder too, and you can start the action...I'm not sure if I've ever actually heard of a successful boycott, (even if there have been, I never heard about it).BUT everyone's ears perk up when they hear about a lawsuit, esp if there is any chance at all they might be able to get $0.02 off of it. And if its a big lawsuit, they it gets in the news, and even more people hear about it.Its sad to say, but the only way to get big companies attention is to go for the CEO's wallet.

No, you people won't get DICK. A bunch of f**king LAWYERS will make a ton of money, and you, the end user, will get nothing more than a stupid f**king coupon.DO NOT PARTICIPATE in stupid class action suits. Gah

Imagine that. Oblivion, the #1 selling game this week on PC, and no Starforce.Or, the #1 selling game franchise of all time--The Sims--and no Staforce there either.Look through ALL the best-selling games, and notice how many use Starforce. Basically, zero, with Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory being the exception.

So is this another class action law suit were the lawyer gets all the money, while the people who were actually effected will get a check for what, $5?
