@jpcoombsMy point wasn't that one company was evil or not evil based on their goal for profits my point was your answer. It's just business. That's how we should look at it because that's exactly how they look at it. I didn't state either was evil i stated that if one was evil the other was no less or more so. There should be nothing wrong with purchasing any of the big three's systems day one and as far as I'm concerned there isn't. As for the price on the ps3, i feel it's reasonable. I'm not rich, i work at gamecrazy which, by the way, doesn't give me a discount on Hardware. I got the 360 day one and I'll get the wii and PS3 day one. I also do all of this while putting myself through college. I'm gonna own and be using the PS3 for about 6-7 years, the price seems a little fairer when you think about that. Or that i spent $400 dollars on an ipod, something that has no where near the functionality of the PS3. I also trust the developers that Sony has under there belt, i trust them to make good games. The fact that you all are calling Sony evil and chanting the graphics are bad slogans shows that Nintendo has you in the palm of there hand. It doesn't mean you'll be unhappy there, but it does make you biased and generally a dick towards anyone who doesn't agree with you. I just want people to have some perspective on the matter. Also i know microsoft and Sony has there own rhetoric spewing fanboys too, but they're dicks also. Just to put that in perspective.note: I'm not calling jpcoombs a Dick i haven't heard him spew enough rhetoric to make that assumption or not.

Who calls their penis a "wee"? I've heard weewee, but never wee. The jokes were broken and lame from day one.

You should all read this too. It is an old article (~9 months ago), but incredibly well written and it provides some insight on why Nintendo and its innovations are important to the industry. http://www.lostgarden.com/2005/09/nintendos-genre-innovation-strategy.html

"no even heavy-duty workstations can't ray-trace anything other than extremely simple objects at low resolution with limited ray-intersection in real-time, and even then at a relatively low FPS."About a year ago there was news of a dedicated ray-tracing card, it could render massive amounts of data and such very quickly (they tried it with a 7GB or so model of a plane, it could render it at 7 FPS, which is about the same speed my GeForce 2 runs HL2 at)

The controllers also work as a camera. Its quite obvious if you look at how the controllers work (3d camera tracking tech on UV/IR lights on the strip by the tv).----Oh, as for graphics:Its 95% upto the development teams.Having powerfull hardware does not give you good graphics magicaly, it merely sets and upper limit.Resident Evil 4 took a absolutely huge team 5 years to make, and it shows. To be sure the Xbox360 and the PS3 will have a higher "upper limit" then the Wii, but most game developers wont really be able to afford to push the systems to the max, so you will get the same on all platforms. (for most games)Of course, some graphical ehancements are "free" in terms of development time.eg. HDR/Bloom blur, lighting, ect. This is perhapes why we are seeing a huge overkill of high-contrast games with massively over the top lighting.Developers are doing this to hide the fact that (in most cases) the polygons and textures havnt actualy got better.Hopefully in a year developers will have matured and we will see what the Xbox360 can really do giving a long development cycle.

There are a few things that make me think this is BS. I'm refrencing the first link provided in a comment that is very simmial to the original article. This is because the link has been taken down and some may not be able to read it etc. I'll leave out the items mentioned before for conciseness. Metal Gear Solid 4. On the Wii? That just doesn't seem right if you ask me. Also, the writer mentioned that the Wii would come with two remotes, the nunchaku and the Classic Controller. Nintendo has officially stated that the Controller would be released seperately from the console bundle and be priced around $20. I don't really find this whole thing believeable.
