commandline.org.uk — More people in the UK share files than voted for the government. Filesharing is not a crime - it is mandate, it is normal behaviour. It is time for the government to realise that it is not worth killing the Internet Golden Goose for yesterday's dying (and mostly foreign) media companies.

OK, more people fileshare than voted for the government, so filesharing has at least as much legitimacy as the government.Aside from discussion about how much legitimacy the government has, or voting systems, there must be other examples that make this argument clearer - either showing cases where it produces crazy results, or other things that are against the law, but nearly everyone does - like speeding.Thoughts?
