none of those things will harm me in moderation.I can have a beer or two every few days and not destroy my liver, look at a few web pages every day without turning into a recluse, sleep with women and not become a sex-addicted maniac, and have a coffee once in a while before turning into a caffeine addict.Nicotine is more addictive than alcohol, more than heroine even. Do you know any smokers that only have one cigarette every few days? Me neither. In fact, the measurement of a smoking habit is done in packs per day.Beer, the internet, sex, and coffee all have beneficial effects. The body uses alcohol as a fuel. Beer can also be quite nutritious, and can help one relax. The internet allows you to get information and become a more knowledgeable person. Sex is, well sex and needs no further explanation. Coffee makes one feel more alert. Smoking has no beneficial effects (and no, it doesn't relax you, it's relaxing your addiction) at all.Obviously, when done to excess, anything can be a detriment for you, but one of the things I've learned from living in an area where smoking is very common is that there is no such thing as smoking in moderation.

I agree, which is why smoking shouldn't be allowed in restaurants at all.
