Its good to see with all the budget issues in Michigan we have the resources to go after this guy! Its good to see Police Chief Andrew Milanowski has so much time on this hands, tax dollars at work!!
This guy wasn't breaking the law. The network was unsecured - wide open. Do they arrest people for listening to the police scanner? Same scenario. This cop is a prick straight up. The guy was completely innocent, and Chief Andrew Milanowski admitted that he thought the guy didn't know he was breaking the law on CNN. He still issued the warrant though, and the guy was fined and had to do a paid week's worth of community service. Man, what a prick!Instead of bitching about it here, you should tell him what you think directly:Sparta Police DepartmentChief Andrew Milanowski260 W. No doubt. This is not even a crime if you read the Michigan law:Item 5(c) Access was achieved without the use of a set of instructions, code, or computer program that bypasses, defrauds, or otherwise circumvents the pre-programmed access procedure for the computer program, computer, computer system, or computer network.http://www.legislature.mi.gov/(S(l3hzcf45vn4ppazgcg0xop45))/mileg.aspx?page=getObject&objectName=mcl-752-797
