I'm betting he thought that despite his flakiness about retirement and his obvious age issues the team should take him back and immediately reinstate him as the starting quarterback. Once he made the decision to retire he should have stuck with it. I can't see anything wonderful for his career coming from this. Hope I'm wrong for his sake.
