newscientist.com— Fathers: watch what you say. It seems dads may have more of an influence on their children's language development than they might think.

@ darwinStill mommy's little baby are ya? Wait until you get out of your parent's basement and into the real world.Daddy won't seem like such an ass anymore.
Excuse me Bobski. I'm a conservative. Sheesh. As a conservative and as an American, I'm embarassed by George W. Bush. He appears to be profoundly retarded, not to mention evil, and a hypocrite. What ever happened to his isolationist view, opposing our involvement in Kosovo because there was no viable exit strategy? What happened to his opposition to big government intruding upon the freedoms of its citizens?Take a look at this man:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whhbPVrb5KMI tell you, I am ashamed that conservatives voted this man into office. I dare you to watch the whole clip.
This is weird, because unlike me, my dad never had a tendency to wax verbose. Of course, now that I think about it, my tendency to mix ten-dollar words with sailor-esque lingo is a habit I developed much later in life. In fact, I recall an story my mom told me about this one time when I was two: my dad was griping about having to attend a family function (on my mom's side of the family) when he spake the word "dammit," which I then gleefully began to shout all the way to my grandparent's house. It was all they could do to shut me up.
