Interesting note on James Gosling (from Wikipedia):In October 2006 he shaved for the first time in decades (in preparation for surgery). According to him, neither his wife nor his children had ever seen him before without a beard.

Other than constantly battling between basic/object types, and having a standard library forced down your throat by Sun I would say it isn't all that bad.

How exactly do you get a standard library forced down your throat as an application programmer??? Maybe don't use the library then?
