people.virginia.edu — The popular website www.fark.com was radically changed late yesterday shattering people's faith in the website. I think this is a sign of things to come with community driven websites-as the people running them begin to see the sites as a profit generating center instead of the gathering place they once were.

The new designs sucks. If your main complaint is ad related, use firefox and download ad blocker extension. Since I paid for a year of Total Fark, I will give it a chance, if it is still slow and unusable in a week, I will go through Pay Pal & get my money back. In the end, it is Drew's site, & he can do with it what he wishes. Just as the clientele can vote with their mice.

If you a regular to the TotalFark forums the bold blue highlight given to TotalFark users is headache inducing after a few minutes. I installed the Stylish extension for Firefox but that just took away the blue bars in the forums it did nothing for the bad format, hideous comment box, or the slow loading.

I am so bummed I just bought a year subscription to fark. It's unreadable.. I'm going to ask for a full refund.
