All those blocky 2px borders! The colors! The only excuse I could think of was that they were trying to do 90% of the layout in very simple CSS without images to save on bandwidth... then I looked at the code and saw that everything is in tables! I don't like sites with too many bells and whistles and I don't care if it looks 2.0 or not, but the design shouldn't distract or hinder the usability of the page. I think Digg is the perfect example of a very well designed site where every element looks good and has a point. For example: the soft gradient behind user comments. Each comment stands on its own, but the page doesn't look like hundreds of little individual boxes either. Fancy design for the sake of fancy design is silly (for a site like fark) but GOOD design can make a huge difference.
Actually, I have a question for all of you (former?) Farkers:Now what? What do we do now that our "home", so to speak, is gone? Do we stay here at Digg, or should we try to organize another Fark-like website? I hate to say it, but I feel lost right now. Anyone up for trying to get something like Ferk.com up and running?I'd love to hear any ideas, if you have them. What say you, ex-Farkers? Shall we begin anew?
I just don't have enough skills for all that s**t. It would be great if someone could get the ball rolling in some direction. Seems like a lot of people are heading out of fark. Wonder where it'll end up.//Oh and some of this///little more
Early days? It still happens all the f**king time on smaller IRC networks. For instance, pretty much any anime network other than Rizon (which is just slightly less abusive than its smaller counterparts).Currently, the best place to escape that drama is Freenode (even for social IRC), but some places like EFnet and QuakeNet can still be good.

That's some nasty looking site, probably a rip of some 1998 site.

Lets just hope they now will listen to the (currently) 1852 mostly negative comments and change things back to a better design.<a class="user" href="http://www.diggma.com" rel="nofollow">http://www.diggma.com</a> <a class="user" href="http://coldjung.com" rel="nofollow">http://coldjung.com</a>
