famster.com— I can't believe that this site isn't widely known, even with all its features: share photos, stream videos, create a blog, upload files, keep track of RSS feeds... all in Flash? and for free? Ridiculous.

I've gone ahead and registered the "Digg Family" on famster just for the hell of it... but I'm still having trouble deciding if this could be useful to us? I was thinking maybe it could be used as some sort of hosting site for hot stories that suffer from the Digg effect... but with a maximum of 50MB of files and 100MB of movies, there really isn't much room. PLUS we have already seen that famster can't really hold up to a lot of traffic. So what do you guys think? If we can figure out if this is useful I will release the password. Or perhaps we should just wait and see if famster grows into a site that could prove to be more usefull... The only reason I'm holding onto the password is to prevent some dick from going in and changing it to keep it for themselves...www.famster.com/digg
"yeah flash is soooooo uncool right guys?"For managing content at this scale, it's not that great.Flash is nice for a lot of things, but not as a replacement for good ol' HTML.I made an account on the site and just got sick of the flash to the point where I had no interest in actually creating any content.
I'm leaving for college in a month. I've got Facebook for keeping in touch with friends... but what about family? This site looks like it might fit the bill. It's not that I won't still call or whatever, but but posting recipes? A family tree? Come on. That's too cool to pass up.
You might also want to check out www.TheFamilyPost.com. It's a pretty classy site that also uses Flash. The interface is really simple, and let's you upload and rearrange all your pics with a drag and drop. Has anyone else heard of this site?
Famster may be the latest buzz but MyGreatBigFamily.com blows famster away in terms of features and functionality and they've been doing it a lot longer. And new features on the way. Many other players in this space. The family website is the next evolution in social networking.Anyway check it out yourselfhttp:/www.mygreatbigfamily.com

That is about as non-flashy as you can get. In fact, it's so bland that it actually looks unreliable.
