computerworld.com — One day, Bill Gates was standing on a street corner, watching the clouds roll by. Absentmindedly, he dropped a $1,000 bill out of his pocket. A bystander noticed and said, "Are you going to pick that up?"

Ummm speeds and tech are improving every year. There is no reason to say "the costs to run a public Internet at Internet2 speeds would be too high for ISPs and consumers." How much do we actually value the Internet now (compared to how often we use it)?Japanese ISP will begin offering symmetrical 1Gbps connections for ?5,460 (US$51.40) per month starting in October. The new service, cheaper than connections one-tenth as fast, will be made available to single-dwelling homes and apartment buildings up to three floors high in the Tokyo area and Hokkaido island in north Japan. KDDI's current fiber-optic service offers symmetrical 100Mbps for ?6,615 ($63) while the broadly available 10Mbps DSL service costs around ?4,599 (43). - http://www.pcworld.com/article/151562/.html?tk=rss ...I'm hoping something like this happens in the US (Google?) otherwise I might have to move to Japan ^_^

Sorry, let me clarify. The power button can safely turn off the computer IF YOU DO NOT HOLD IT IN. The person I speak of holds the power button in, which is NEVER good. (unless things are really bad frozen)

Flash is 95% BAD. Somebody wrote this 8 or 9 years ago, complaining that sites built in Flash had back buttons that didn't work the same as browser back buttons. And oh yes, Flash intros were boring and intrusive and a waste of time. This bulletin of topical profundity is still circulating. Go ahead and Google it.
