broadcastingcable.com — "Fox has substituted one original episode of Family Guy for another on Sunday, the debut of its new fall season lineup that night, because the episode scheduled to air contained a “couple? references to a hurricane." Do Not Watch and support censorship!

I just checked this is just a different new episode. I mis-understood the article. It is a different NEW episode. It still is bad though.

So, if they're airing another original episode, how is it a re-run?

It's not censorship, well it is, but it's 'smart' censorship. Large markets would actually be pissed, not just some fringe wacky minority.I don't know what the hurricane jokes were like, but I know for a fact that it was 8 months before I saw the first 9/11 joke, and that was on a show that was cancelled 1 episode later. :-/

What's the point in changing episodes? It's not like the people in New Orleans will see it, they have no power.

Quote imatt:"This was probably written way before Katrina hit and all, it's probably a coincidence and they decided to wait. I doubt they wrote it about hurricane Katrina or something like it. They can't write that fast. It only happened like a week ago."You've obviously never seen South Park. They can spit out an episode which makes fun of major events only a week after they happen (the latest I recall is the Schiavo spoof where Kenny is Heaven's "Keanu Reeves", I think).

I'm a huge "Family Guy" fan, and I honestly can't believe that so many of you are making a big deal out of this. Fox delayed an episode by two measly weeks! They're airing a different new episode earlier than originally planned, so what's the problem?!

The following is a statement by "Family Guy" writer Greg Colton (posted to the alt.tv.family-guy Usenet newsgroup):----------It's hardly "f**king with the show" ...if you want to get technical, "Peter's Got Woods" was supposed to air first anyway. Nothing's gonna get cut out or altered in "Perfect Castaway"...so it's all good.----------And incidentally, Fox has changed its schedule again, and now intends to delay the airing of "Perfect Castaway" by one week (instead of two).
