hmm interesting that they'd chose to leave those out, perhaps they are encompassed by something else and just not listed

I also thought he said we could control the privacy setting of every single photo we posted. I can still only control it on an album level. I don't see any individual settings. Yeah they did "We're adding something that many of you have asked for — the ability to control who sees each individual piece of content you create or upload."I don't see this option anywhere.

Unnecessary? Yes. Facebook tends to do everything that's unnecessary just for the sake of it. Look at the layout. They've redone it 6 or 7 times. With each update they make it s**ttier and more confusing. They try and follow current trends, which is nice, but they fail when it comes time to implement it into the UI. This next UI update that's on the way to focus more on search looks like a high school kid thought it up. Dark blue icons on off blue background? More room for ads on the right side of the site? Come on Facebook wtf are you doing? http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/11/27/facebook-rede ...

To hide your friends list:Uncheck the "Show my friends on my profile" option in the Friends box on your profile, your Friend List won't appear on your profile regardless of whether people are viewing it while logged into Facebook or logged out. This information is still publicly available, however, and can be accessed by applications. Note: this addition came at least a day after the new privacy changes, and people will struggle to find it (it's not in privacy settings). If you had your friends list hidden before, you have to go through this process. Facebook have 350 million users that they're playing games with.

Settings > Privacy > Search Turn off Indexing, and lock down Facebook Search Results to "Friends" or "Friends of Friends". I wouldn't doubt what you are saying is probably true but for me I can't see my profile unless I'm logged in. Even with vanity URL. Googled my vanity URL and couldn't find anything. Maybe because I had it blocked from the beginning or it hasn't gotten into search yet.

Yes, you can hide your profile entirely, but people who have left their settings the same (i.e. clicked "old settings") have been exposed. You don't f**k with the privacy of 350 million users and expect them all to work out the "new new" way of getting their privacy back for no reason.
