thewebpreneur.com— According to my sources Facebook will be announcing an online music service May 21st. I had thought of utilizing Facebook’s API to add a music feature but that won’t be necessary.

I think music is a good idea...and I'm so f***ing sick of all those facebookers who nay-say every change they make for about a week and then like it afterwards.@maglob: qq
That site was infinitely better when it was just a way to meet people and keep up with high school friends. I miss it being exclusive to college students (high schoolers and adults have Myspace, Xanga....). What the hell does it need more complexity for?
you know mySpace has an option to turn that off dont you?Anyway, at no point in the article did it say they wanted to myspace it up and make your ears bleed with s**tty emo music every time you visit a page.Methinks it will be more like the option to listen to the music than it being forced on you.
"I think music is a good idea...and I'm so f***ing sick of all those facebookers who nay-say every change they make for about a week and then like it afterwards."We thought music was a good idea for myspace and look how it ended up. Myspace is an obese monstrosity that vomits ads at you if you get close to it. Facebook is nice, plain, and offers what people want. f**k no I don't want to arrive at someone's facebook to find 240 animated gifs that they have deemed appropriate, nay, necessary to translate who they are into digital form. And hell no, I do not want everyone's page playing a different song, resulting in my Firefox tabs screaming something that sounds like it was brewed in the very bowels of hell.So in short, I disagree.
This would only work if the music did not automatically stream. Because that was the problem with myspace is that for those of us still with dial-up, it takes to long for stuff to load. So the user would have to manually select to listen to the music preventing long waiting times for dial-up users.
Facebook has already said before that they will not allow automatic streaming on their profiles. A user must still click a button to hear a song. I'm really not surprised given how strict they are, even in their ad network.Nickhttp://www.facebookforbands.com
