crunchgear.com — What the hell has happened to Facebook? I logged in for the first time in a long time yesterday to respond to a message from this idiot and I?m greeted by all sorts of strange and unwanted distractions. There?s little colored icons everywhere? I?m getting ?super poked? (what?) by people I?ve never heard of? the NYPD wants to hire me?

The craziness is there but Facebook does allow you do ignore requests and take the notifications off your page. However, it would be better if you could have a "Banned Applications List", but that would only be circumventing the problem and not fixing it. What needs to happen is a rating system, and applications with a certain rating can only appear on your page. That would give a greater amount of control and flexibility.

you mean you don't want to read someones fortune cookie, draw on their graffiti, read their horoscope or do 'anything' (X Me API) to them? You have a problem watching their youtubes and reading their digg comments? I know you can't be angry with your friends' iLike scores and joining in the food fight before getting 100 free gifts. How about being forced to view their flickr accounts (all 1000 images of them) and biting your friends like Zombies? Not for you? come on pal read your friends words of the day and if you can find their wall you can leave a message.
