techcrunchit.com — The Wall Street Journal is reporting Facebook will open up most if not all of their user-contributed data to developers at a developer event tomorrow.Could this take us one step closer to the ultimate live stream of real-time events?

@IcedKasz, that's a good question. Depends on how they store the data. They may allow you to overwrite data, or they may keep pointers to the current data and just add a new record and update the pointer when something is changed (which is what I do when I want to track information and how it changes over time in my apps, which is sometimes a requirement for security, etc)

@DockerJo:Data mining done by intelligence and advertising communities != Facebook being a CIA front. One is slightly paranoid, but does not seem too extreme or conspiracy theorist.FB being a FRONT FOR THE CIA is just a WEEEEE bit overboard, dontcha think?

Yes, it is.

As a human, I'd prefer both developers and advertisers stay the f**k away from my person data!

I don't understand, they'll only allow developers to pull feeds of the logged in user, what kind of innovation will that bring about? You'll only end up getting a gazzilion versions of facebook. Not that I'm for opening up private info, but this is far from opening up anything

Digg my comment if you purge quiz feeds every day.
